Hayes - When he gets his chance he puts it away. Brilliant finisher. Also holds the ball up well and creates chances. Dominated the first half like we did against Walsall. Colgan didnt have a shot to make. Think it was Shuker who sent Hayes through, he used his strength to shake off the defender and lobbed it over the keeper. Darlington had a chance late in the second half but Colgan saved brilliantly (reflex save). Thay also hit the bar in the first half. They were their only chances really. We should have put the game to bed with the chances we had but 1 goal was enoigh because Darlingto didnt cause us any problems. Man of the match: Hassell - had a superb game in the centre of defence. Him and Watt in the centre against Bradford for me. Won most arial challenges, found a man when passing (unlike Kay who just hoofs it upfield - if Kay takes that out of his game aswell as the mistakes hes a quality defender) and intercepted passes briliantly. Also Devaney had a good game with his pace and skill. Created many chances that we should have scored. A solid performance from everyone - especially the defence. Austin, Tongue, Hassell and Kay had brilliant games - didnt give them anything. Nardiello is a waste of space when coming on as a sub. You need someone who gives 100% and looks up for it.
