When you post on a forum it would be very helpful if you didn't presume everyone knows what your talking about.

And yet I still have no idea what you're talking about. We've now narrowed it down to Barnsley are playing Alfreton but for us that cannot see inside your head (thank god) what the hell are you talking about with head height rule? Remember some of us havent got time to live on sky sports news.

Keef says in a newspaper (Chron l think) report that he's thinking about playing the game under head height.

"There is a possibility that l will make a rule for Tuesdays friendly against Alfreton that my players can't kick the ball over head height.

I have not decided for definate yet but it l am considering it because l want to focus on our ball retention skills"

What a wonderful idea. Play our friendlies using a set of rules that do not mimic the real game at all and then get surprised when we get shafted every week all season because other teams have actually practiced using the rules of association football.

I think that in training Luke Steele shouldn't be allowed to use his hands, it will help him get better with his feet. Of course we'll lose 5-0 on the opening day of the season but thats besides the point.

I reckon Keith doesnt actually like taking their Sydney swimming.

Lets hope we don't turn out a team of Midgets.

But when the players are hoofing the ball anywhere because they're not comfortable with the ball at their feet under pressure. You'll be moaning and wondering what the team are doing in training to improve this.

Of course I will, I'm a Barnsley fan.

If we're going down that route then maybe the entire squad must play a friendly using only their weaker foot.

Damn the sheer lunacy of our manager trying to get his players to improve their passing skills. How dare he.

We already spend the entire game passing between the same two players (whoever is on the right wing and whoever is at right back) whilst completely ignoring the players open who are further away. Not allowing them to kick the ball over head height will only serve to further compound that problem in my opinion. All of our players know how to pass a ball 5 yards, the problem is that most of them are absolutely terrible at passing it longer distances where the ball NEEDS to go over head height.

Foster is awful at it, McEveley was the same last season, McNulty isn't too good at it, the list goes on. All of them can pass a ball 5 yards but try passing a decent ball to someone in space further away and they cant do it. Now how will keeping the ball under head height help them to pick players out?

What about training with cones? Or in marked out boxes and triangles? 4 v 2? etc, etc? What about doing bleep tests? And running circuits? Weights?
None of those things are part of the rules of a match.

He should add the '2 touch' rule too. Could make it interesting.

And I highly doubt that you'll ever see Barnsley FC doing a bleep test in the middle of a game of football against Alfreton either.

Thats instead of a penalty shootout if they draw.

They should take up the goal posts and use tracky tops and coats instead. Keef's Barbour could be used for one of the goalposts.
