    considering changing the Champions league format for qualification to the FA Cup Winner and top 3 of prem. Great idea if so - would rejuvinate the cup and create the possibility of redistributing wealth imho

    Presumably it'd go to the runners-up should the winner also finish in the top three of the Premiership?

    Didn't realise the FA could do that

    Thought it was a UEFA condition that it should be via league qualification.

    Bad move if you ask me to further devalue the European Cup.

    Platini is lobbying for change to cut the number of places for those with 3 or 4 places and to allocate to champions of other countries that have to qualify - a move in the right direction.

    Terrible Idea

    To get into the top 4 in the league you need to play 42 games.

    To win the FA cup, you could only need to play 6. Not exactly the same is it?

    will be good for the FA Cup, however........

    ....will surely be another nail in the coffin of the UEFA Cup. Having the champions of every European country qualify automatically is also a big step in the right direction.

    Poor idea

    Platini has got the right idea. The Champs League should be made up of the CHAMPIONS of every european nation and then made up with the 2nd place teams. End of. Until something like this happens then the big clubs in Europe are just gonna get further away financially because everything possible is done to accommodate them.

    straight knockout competition from the start, just like the domestic cups.
