Hecky can't be sacked this season or for 2 or 3 seasons to come. Why? Because in his defence he just needs to say - 01/17 In that 01/17 means in January 2017 he built a team that was only one point from the top six and with the addition of one or two players could have pushed for promotion. Instead, because of how contracts are constructed and because the club needed the money that team was sold from under him. In doing that the board of directors at Barnsley have given Hecky a free pass for the next few seasons. 01/17
I think you need to change the title to Hecky SHOULDNT be sacked. Then I'd agree with your post. Unfortunately if the owner decides he should go he will be sacked no matter what anyone else thinks
If a manager who wins the premier league can be sacked a few months later, hecky doesn't stand a chance. Personally dont think it will come to that though
Yes - yer could be right there. I'm looking at it tho from the directors point of view. They must be thinking - if we sack Hecky after seeing what he is capable of up to 01/17 then what's the fans going to think about us?
bang on right there, we have the best manager in the division and the people at Barnsley know this, it may take time but things will sort themselves out
If Barnsley sacked him they'd be letting the biggest asset we have go for nowt - in fact they'd have to pay him. They aren't that daft. However, should a 'bigger' championship club have a very slow start and sack whoever they have in charge, I'm not so sure they'd fight too hard to keep him if money was offered. He is the one asset the club has that mustn't be allowed to go. But they will. Let's face it, his stock has to be high, he has to be highly regarded in the game. He'd walk into another job.
/\ a disaster that the fans will hate, which will be fire fought by the club by appointing Bobby Hassell and/or disco as the next manager. You read it here first.
I know exactly what I would think and I'm sure many more would think the same way. I dare say that for some it might even be the final straw.
