If he does go I wonder how much we will get? IIRC the £1m clause was only for the 1st year of his contract. We can demand a fee that we feel is a fair valuation. Maybe even inflate it if a club wants him badly. £4m? Goalkeepers are hard to come by, ones of quality anyway. And he has got 18 months of contract left. Have heard that we have been showing an interest in Brown at Blackburn. He would be a decent replacement.

Could well be true that. O Neil as said that Brad Friedel's place isn't secure and we were suppose to be looking at a keeper the other week. We can put two and two together.

Can't see why Villa would want him. If friedal is to lose his place then they've got that Guzon who is pretty highly rated by the U.S international team, and they had to fight quite hard to get him clearence, and haven't they still got Stuart Taylor there. If he is he's a more than adequate 3rd choice behind the other 2.

Well if we got a good lump of money i would not be too upset as steele is a quality replacment and the money might allow us to bring in a big name forward of attacking midfielder

He's got another season after this on his contract and Davey as called him the best goalkeeper in the championship. I'd say we could get 2-2.5 million for him.

    How much for?

With the cash from Howard and Muller, we could get a striker and an attacking midfielder.

Just because a scout was at the game ....

doesn't mean he will be off. Scouts watch loads of players, often more than one in each game. Villa hae a reasonable choice of keepers, including the experienced Friedel and, as Muller is not exactly 'up and coming,' I cannot see why they would particularly want him.

Wouldn't mind Stuart Taylor as a swap, though. I think o'Hanlon did well to unearth Muller and am confident that he would do the same again if it became necessary. Don't be surprised if Muller signs another deal at Oakwell, though, after keeping his options open for a while.

Muller is 30. He has got his best 5 years ahead of him. Keepers are at their best after 30. In a good side he would look a very able goalkeeper. Better than Taylor.

We need 2 good goalkeepers though. Steele and Brown would be a decent pairing.
