it's 5 to 10 in the morning which is a bit odd thinking we are soon kicking off, not flying back 'til later tonight so using this site for updates.

been to both Toronto Argonaughts (CFL) and Toronto Blue Jays (MLB) this week but it's time for a real sport.

    COME ON YOU REDS!

Guess you couldn't get tickets for the Toronto FC / LA game earlier this week.

Home games have a good atmosphere - already got a reputation for best one in the MLS.

    no we couldn't

but the two North American sports we saw somewhat changed my opinion of them, the stadium atmosphere improves the spectacle a lot, as do the various competitions etc presented during game stoppages, of which there are quite a few especially in CFL.

The "Home Hardware 5th Inning Cleanup" was very amusing during the baseball game also :D

I'll look forward to the competitions then!! Also going to a Cubs game on my travels as well, which does look good. Hopeing to get over the impression of it being simply a game of rounders!!

    I thought that also

but when you see just how fast the pitches really are and the skill involved to even get the ball away from the square you are forced to reconsider.

the competitions really are good, at the CFL game yesterday they had their equivalent of the shed! It involved throwing "footballs" into the back of a pick-up truck.

    A Cubs game?

You barstard! Going to Wrigley or is it a road game? They are the team I follow but not managed as yet to get to a game at Wrigley Field.

Got tickets for 2 Philli v NY Mets games in a couple of weeks.

"get the ball away from the square"

I'm trying to work out what you mean here!

The size of the outfield as well and the distance that an outfielder has to cover, you don't get the perspective of that on TV. Having played the sport, albeit at a very low standard, I can appreciate a lot of the finer points much more as well.
