I have a toshiba lap top which I bought a year ago. It's getting slower to boot up and connect to the internet... it can now take up to 15 minutes before I can be online.... any suggestions how to improve the speed ?

what about disk cleanup? It sometimes works for me. Though that might just be in my head, I don't know much about computers really. To do that, go to programs, then accessories, then system tools. Could be worth a try? :)

another suggestion that I did once when my pc began running slow. Delete/ uninstall the software (or whatever its called lol) for the internet provider and then reinstall, that sorted my pc out once. My virus checker said I had no viruses so I don't know what it was.

    RE: You could try these

Or you could just go..Start>Run>msconfig...and then startup and choose the programs you want to start when your laptop starts

If all else fails you could re-install Windows. I think there is even a way of doing this from Windows without over-writing everything.

You could try a product like Norton SystemWorks which will check your startup processes, optimise your hard drive and check for errors in the registry, bad links etc.

You could try uninstalling applications to clear the clutter. All sorts of crap gets installed when you're

I must admit my computer is suffering the same so this is a subject I can relate to.
