....Daughter taken over kitchen to cook meal for boyfriend so want to take wife out for a fairly cheap meal at short notice. I've talked her into curry (which she doesn't usually go for. Which of the two above are the best and will I have any problem getting into either on a Saturday without booking first?

    Dil Raj

Get there early and you'll be okay. The longer you leave it, the greater the wait for a table. Enjoy your curry. I'm having pasta.....................................................again.
I love being on a diet.

    Hee hee, now's my chance......

    Curry Mahal

Bit cheaper, meals OK, will be no problem getting in even on Saturday night as just built new extension. Personal opinion food not as good as other place.

    Dil Raj

More expensive, will be packed later on, usually have to turn people away in middle part of evening. Food IMO better. Service suffers on Sat night when packed as not enough staff. Opens at 5.30 so if you ring now you will get a table booked for later.

If you go to Dil Raj tell them Ian sent you and he will be wanting a free pint next time!

No, what I was saying is:

You should eat your carbs in the morning/early afternoon.

Try to stick to green veggie carbs and meat in the late afternoon/evening.

That is, unless you are going on a 5 mile run tonight?

Best thing to eat, before bed is cottage cheese - it's full of caseine (which is like a slow burning protein).

5 mile run with my weight?

That'll have Crystal reaching for the life assurance papers. Now don't go giving her ideas like that.

    Haha

No, but seriously - carbs anything upto 6 hours before you go to bed are bad mate.

Pasta/Potatoes are like the plague - try to eat them earlier in the day - you'll lose far, far more weight.

If you do get peckish late on, try some organic rice cakes with cottage cheese - surprisingly nice.

Cheers-I'm more confused than ever now. Most people favour Dil Raj EXCEPT.....

...CHEF tyke! If he's a real chef his vote counts double. Anyone else got any comments about Royal Spice?

    Actually

That sounds okay, as I like both rice cakes and cottage cheese.

I go through two phases - cutting and bulking.

When cutting (calories - maintanence) I eat only green veggie carbs and meat after 3pm. That way, the stuff you are putting in is getting used up by your muscles rather than getting stored (as not too many people exercise on a night).

Lot's of people make the mistake of thinking that 'Not eating will lose weight' - although this is true, you'll lose both fat and muscle. While you are asleep/resting - your body doesn't need carbs, only protein. That's why cottage cheese/peanut butter is good before bed time.

Want to know the best food ever (although not taste wise) = Raw eggs. A raw egg contains more nutritional value than just about any know food on the planet. Don't whisk/beat it though - it starts to oxidise, and loses it chemical balance. People have been known to recover faster from injury/illness just from eating raw eggs.

If you need any nutrition/exercise advice - just let me know mate.

    Agreed

It's the nearest I'll get to a curry for a while. But I'm not sulking and feeling sorry for myself. Not me, oh no.
