I've been building up to something for the last few months (that I've craved for years) and have really been looking forward to it as the likelyhood of it happening drew nearer and nearer. However, in the last couple of weeks somethings have occured that makes the chances of it happening seem less likely.

Question,..... do I invest all my thoughts, energies and emotions in hoping it happens and be massively disaponted if it doesn't? or, do I cut my losses now and forget all about it?

Please note: I'm finding this difficult to talk about right now, but I realise I need to talk about it to get it out of my system, so be tender with me.

nope, we all ralised your craving was likely not to happen quite a while ago

I recommend that you get msn and contact chris shuker on there, apparently he uses it a lot and he's a better listener than he is crosser of a football.

Alternatively you could phone up your local radio station and speak to their 'experts'

I believe there is going to be a decent one on on Thursday evening. He'll make you feel like he's your best friend and he won't tell a soul of your problems because he is eternally loyal.

I've being putting this thing on a pedastal ever since I was a lad........

year in, year out I've built it up and its let me down (usually within a couple of months). In fact (despite my undivided loyalty) its only come good for me 3 times 30 odd years. I thought it was going to come good for me this year, but it looks as if it may be snatched away from me at the last minute. Cruel, cruel, cruel........

I'm so sluffened I can't talk about it anymore and I'm off to thrash the television controller to within one inch of its life.

    I suggest ....

You should join a self help group of like minded people who have a similar affliction to you. The best way is to build up as much neagtive energy as possble and you'll find that the disappointment isn't so great. I'd suggest calling local radio station/ contacting local press / shouting from the rooftops how fed up you are, and I'm sure you'll rid yourself of this burden. Then I'm sure you may feel free enough to walk away forever - then perhaps engage in something to occupy your thoughts - knitting, shopping for example. Remember, it's pointless seeking things you can't have.

    the trouble is.......

I know of group of people who have a similar problem to me, but they are that busy squabbling amongst themselves at the minute, I'm not sure I'll get a reasoned conversation with any of them.

Can I suggest a visit to the Torquay BBS

I think there you will find a group of people even worse off than yourself.
A few minutes with them and things wont seem too bad after all - at least you wont be dining out at resterauts in places like Canvey Island, Gravesend and Aldershite next season - such are the delights awaiting that unhappy bunch.

Roth Red are you sitting comfortably? Now...

Lets start at the beginning. Barnsley are still doing well and are on the verge of something special. Your catering business is fine we've seen to that.

Now you have the time for the board to revolve to make your decision.

Do you a) act like some of the plebs on here throw in the towel or

    b) Gamble and go along with the reds and back them all the way to the championship?

    Remember your business is safe????

    What do we think everybody

    *Gamble*

You've got the time it takes for the board to revolve to decide

And remember, stay out of the black and in the red, theres nothing in this game for two in a bed.

Football clubs are like children - they might well disappoint you but you love them none the less.

If it doesn't happen this year there's always next year to look forward to and it might be even better

True, true - to tell you the truth I've being seeing her meself for over 40 years and she can be a real bitch at times. But I don't know what I'd do without her.
