Right, I'm trying to conjure up a form of entertainment for a Xmas party of approximately 50 people. Basically, it's to fill a time gap of about 45 mins and my aim is to get folk to intermingle with each other. Any suggestions?
The hokey cokey? Mud wrestling? One where you need to set up a square with rope and make your way from one end to other end without touchin rope in middle which makes up loads of little squares, i can't really explain it but there we go.
Russian Omelette 5 hard boiled eggs and one raw one. Each person in turncracks an egg over their own head.

Rope trick Here's one from my student days.
You need to split them up into teams of 8-12. You then get a rope and pass it up or down Shirts, Trouser legs, dresses, ect, until all the team are joined up together . First team to finish wins.
Heres another one. Pass the Orange. A relay race.
Divide them up into teams. One person has an Orange under their chin and they have to pass it to the next person in their team who takes it under their chin. The orange is passed down the line from one person to another.
No hands are allowed. Again first team to finish wins.
It gets very interesting when the orange starts to slip and roll down the chest, particularly if its a female chest. I still have fond memories of Linda N's puppies.

Plenty of ideas on here http://www.partygamecentral.com/pgc...sp?type=adultal&catname=ADULT+PARTY+GAMES+A-L
Bingo but not the usual bingo People Bingo! a grid with different things on eg someone who has been to Sidney, someone who plays the guitar, somebody who still has a teddy bear etc and they have to go round to get people to sign off the various squares. One person can't be used more than once. good for getting people talking to each other. I've usually used it with 8 squares but that only takes about 10 mins so increase the number, add in some prizes and so on and there you go.
Once went to a party where the hostess had done this picture quiz. Disguising celebrities with glasses, beards, moustaches etc. The hostess split people who knew each other up and pushed them intoteams of4 people who didn't know one another. After about5 minutes we were all getting on like a house on fire and soon got to know each others professions, marital status and everything else. All the while we were trying to fathom these pictures out. Good way of getting people together who would otherwise have stayed in their cliques.
Find someone who ..... Have a quiz sheet with various categories on. Idea is to complete all the boxes with a name against each category. The categories can be whatever you want, but for example:- Has been to a match involving Tottenham Hotspur Has won a Blue Peter Badge Has been to Kenya Is good at Painting Is scared of spiders Has met the Queen etc etc Seen it at a wedding before during the 2 hour gap between meal & disco & it did the trick. It's good because people are able to ask each others names without it being embarassing. When I first saw the task I wondered, but actually it was a good laugh & as a result alot of folks got to know each other. You just need to set the categories to suit your audience.
I've been to a housewarming where they had two methods. One was a series of photos of various local places and you had to team up with people you didn't know and work out where each photo was taken.

The other was a mini treasure hunt in the house, again teams of people who didn't know each other.
