They have a BT line and are registered for 'Talk Talk'
I am trying to find out and see if they can claim any compensation but unsure of where to look
tried a few things in Google but not come up with anything

If they've been without a line for more than 72 hours they they are entitled to compensation but it's not much as I recall only about £1.50 a day after the first 72 hours and I think it comes in the form of calling credit rather than cash.

Doesn't matter if they have calls with Talk Talk, as long as they have line rental with BT then BT are responsible for fixing the fault. If you report to BT mention that they are elderly and vulnerable they should be prioritised.

Also make sure they've checked their phone equipment and the wall socket, if the fault is inside the house BT will charge them for the repair and it costs a bomb.
