I have Sky at the moment and we have it in 2 rooms all channels but Films. cost about £49. Trying to get any sense from them to add the Bedroom and a HD box catch up thing is like trying to get blood out of a stone but from the breakdown looks like £60 plus a month. Plus I pay BT £40 plus a month (Phone Broadband) Looking at the Virgin package (Broadband + Phone + TV 165 channels + HD Catch up Box ) looks like £45 a month a massive saving. We are optic cable enabled according to Virgin so quality would not suffer whats the catch ????????????
Only has BBC HD channel at the moment Fewer Channels, mainly the ones people hardly watch. The V+ box is a bit slow BUT You can record 2 channels at the same time whilst watching another You can record 80 hours worth of programmes The Catch Up On Demand, Music On Demand, Movies On Demand and the TV on Demand is outstanding, this includes BBCi Player and now ITV Catch Up. They store over 100 of the days programs for you to watch for 7 days.
It's very good value for money. You can probably haggle a few more quid out of them though. They don't mind negotiating on price.
No catch... Got HD V+ in lounge, another box in kid's playroom XL TV package XL Phone and 10mb broadband £45
RE: No catch... I've just signed up to Virgin today. Currently pay £49 for Sky Plus with Sky Sports and a 2nd box in one of the kids rooms. Also pay BT £30 mnth for phone and 0.5Mb broadband due to distance from exchange. I'm now gonna have V+ XL TV, with Sky Sports, two more boxes, one in each of kids rooms, phone and 20Mb broadband for £70 a month (£10 off by umming and ahhhing) and half price for 3 months. A saving of £10 a month with an extra box, setanta sports included and 40x quicker broadband and £105 back with the half price offer. And I can flog the sky boxes on ebay and make back the Virgin installation costs. Bargain indeed (Y) .
