When I save work on my pc

to print off on the main one, I click on Save as and then it should come up as type of doc EG. word doc and then year (1997 - 2003),
    if that makes sense.

    Yeah,

    When you are saving it.

Go to 'Save as' - then choose 97-2003 workbook.

2007 saves files at xlsx I believe - it needs to be xls.

    Did you consider downloading OpenOffice?

It would be a much better bet than trying to use Office 97 (and it's free). Compatible with all vedrsions of Office....

Openoffice reads the newer Excel formats, and it's free.
