You can't go wrong by getting AVG as the Anti Virus programme. You can get it FOC from www.grisoft.com and for the firewall try ZoneAlarm which is also FOC from www.zonealarm.com
Also for spywhere programme, download spybot search and destroy, this is also free and pretty easy to use. (search for it via google)
If your on Telewest BB get their all in one package, rather excellent and nowt as well. Also Microsoft Antispyware works better than most is a free download as long as you have a kosher windows installed.
