had 300 songs saved on PC under "my music" folder. yesterday downloaded azureus P2P software and tried downloading something. chose the "my music" folder to download to.

after completion of the download i went to the folder and all of my songs had gone!!! the new download was there though. searched high and low for the songs on the PC but can't find. not in recycle bin or anything but only place i can find any are in "my recent documents" where i can find 5 of the songs.

my itunes is set up sop that my ipod updates automatically so as soon as i plug it in i'll lose all 300 songs off my ipod. been on itunes and can't change this til i plug my ipod in.

anyone know how i can get to my songs on pc? if they work from my recent documents can i access the others or are they gone forever?

you could try a system restore. Start, programs, accessories, system restore.

Dunno where your mp3s have gone but you can get them back off your ipod if you use a bit of software called Ipod Explorer http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/

You wil need the full version but its worth paying the $25 for it. Probably worth uninstalling itunes before you attempt it too..

I'd do what Terry advised - restore your PC to before you downloaded the new album.

cheers for all the help. 1st time i've ever used system restore and it works perfectly. had no idea where the mp3s had gone and had uninstalled stuff and checked everywhere inc p2p folders but could find no trace

might have to check out the ipod explorer tho!
