not having been to Barnsley for far too long
is that the proper name the outpost
is it a pub?

It's a pub, and it's called the Outpost.

Probably should be called Santa's Grotto this time of year tho'!

Its on Sheffield road at the Junction with Doncaster Road.</p>

Pre 70's used to be loads of terraced houses there. On opposite side to Manx about 150yds further out of town. Near wher copper street used to be..?</p>

If that makes sense to an old Barnsley Man.</p>

Top of harbrough hills - the big round about
Go up Sheffield Road to juction where it turns down to Doncaster Road
And the pub is on Sheffield Road on that junction
If tha coming in tut TARN from Donny tha can't miss it
Yer can't miss it cos - its got Outpost in big letters on art side of the pub
Traditionally all the message board guys go in the best end of the pub
