My friend grew up on a farm and her parents still own it. I don't know much about it - I think it might be a dairy farm, not sure how big. I can pass on some questions if you want. Not sure if it'll be any use to you.

Edit: I'm off to bed now so won't be checking until tomorrow.

    I've a question for them.......or two

Ask them if they get just the average £35,000 per year hand out from taxpayers through the EU farm subsidies - or do they get more money than this?

Also ask them..........especially if they live in Barnsley..........how many miners do they think would still be employed if the miners received that or any level of tax payers benefits?

And ask if they think its right that every family in Britain should pay an extra £400 in food bills per year so they can keep destroying our countryside and wildlife; examples are reduction in some species of farmland birds down 80% in the last 25 years?

When you see your friend, ask him if he ever found out who nicked his coleslaw.

Didn't think you would have, just ask him and watch the expression on his face as he realises what you mean...........

Sent you PM. Do I count? I have a holding number; I am at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show next week, that will be packed with farmers. Do you have info I could distribute there?

Words are not enough for you!!!
Maybe food prices should be at free market prices then !! We'll see how many burgers you can afford then!
The subsidy system is in place to keep food at low prices so Everyone can in theory afford the basics.
Unsubsidised and the first crisis I.e world drought /flood etc etc and your paying premiership money for your bread
Accept it , we as farmers look after everyone , without us your knackered
Remember or read about the world wars!!Needed us then

Everyone in their lives will need a Doctor or a Solicitor at some point, both will be used occasionally,
the one who doesn't get the praise they should is the Farmer .....We need him/her everyday just to survive
