Could someone please tell me what situation Simon Davey envisaged that made him believe we required THREE strikers on the bench? Did he think that there was a good chance that the two he selected would get injured, two more would be brought on as substitutes and one of them would get injured? Has anyone ever seen such a situation happen in any game of football ever? Has anyone ever seen anything happen in a football match that would require three strikers on the bench? Alternatively, is there anyone out there that hasn't seen a game where a substitute goalkeeper is required? Maybe Davey was trying to justify having seven strikers at the club.

We were fortunate today, we got away with it. The players deserve a lot of praise for playing good possession football. But that doesn't disguise the fact that having five substitutes but no goalkeeper is just plain daft.

Anyway, well played Reds. Good to finally get a win in the league.

agreed. That was the worst use of a substitutes bench that I can ever recall seeing

Let's hope davey has learnt his lesson and will have a keeper on the bench at all times in future.

    5 strikers. bloody hell.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Well, if he thinks Hassell is a midfielder, maybe he thinks Coulson is a right back and Istvan a quarterback or something?

The fella down from me reckoned it was just like having Colgan back in nets 2nd half, bloody Muller stuck on his line!

You're right it was complete lunacy from Davey, but then again it was complete lunacy every other time he did it. In fact, the only game he had a sub keeper Muller got injured then too, so he's had his warning.

Looked to me like Heinz broke his foot, so a new keeper required sharpish to stand in for now then deputise, as Simon clearly doesn't trust the two we have (plus youths)

first time I've seen a strapping put on the knee for a broken foot but them I'm not a doctor.

The time that Letheren was on the bench was cos Muller was carrying the injury so it was a risk
