Can anyone recommend either; a) good quality goalie gloves (size 6) with 'fingersave' or 'ortho tec' protection that keep your hands warm..............not much chance I know !!! b) gloves that could be worn underneath goalie gloves to keep hands warm without losing feeling / grip..... My lad played on Sunday and his fingers were frozen !!!
That shirt and others.....new Reds one is his favourite at the mo....not the boring silver grey one....his words not mine !!!
Good stuff, keep the reds tops bin the Chelsea ones! ff You should try somewhere like JJB in town for the gloves, I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.
No. Most have gloves for players but don't work under goalie gloves. Wondered if anyone had any ideas.....I might try motorbike places see if they do inner thermal gloves !
You can get a cheap pair of inner thermal gloves from any of the bike shops in Barnsley, i.e. Bennetts on Sheffield Road, Ron Daley's on Rotherham Road(?) Expect to pay about a fiver anyway...I recently bought a pair so I know what I'm talking about for once! Also, some thermal under-clothing would probably be appreciated too, they'll keep him nice and snug whilst his team mates are banging in 8 or 9 goals.
He is a goalie nut...... Shirts he has ..... Chelsea, Everton, Barca, Rangers, Celtic, Italy, Man U., England, Newcastle Reds, Reds, Reds !!
RE: He is a goalie nut...... Well, I hope in a few years he'll be wearing these kind of shirts in a professional capacity.
Cheers.... Thought Bikers might know.....ie not losing feeling and grip.... He already has full thermal vest and trousers and he needs em with some of the places we play
He could ....... but he is too young at the moment. I won't let it get too serious. He has already had some great training at Barnsley, Rotherham and Man City but his favourite at the moment is Sheff Utd
RE: Cheers.... Yeah, I appreciate it when I have full grip of a bike...it kinda helps with confidence!! I treated myself to a full thermal outfit including the gloves and heated grips so it feels like summer time for me on the bike ff You may be able to get a pair at somewhere like Primark too for a few pound cheaper.
RE: He could ....... Well, good luck to the lad! I remember seeing him at a BBS match kicking a ball about, he looked prety useful. You'll have to get him a Celtic keeper top next...!
well you can get silk liners for gloves but I found them not much use though it was -45 when I used them! Seriously though it might be worth trying outdoor shops like..not cheap though Rock & Run..maybe these http://www.rockrun.com/shop/prod.html?d=1&t=68&p=2692&sid=ffe79f97b10f824463a88ab43c23ac11 Ellis Brigham http://www.ellis-brigham.com/shop.htm Snow & Rock http://www.snowandrock.com/shop/activity/ski/accessories/gloves/products/CIEDC.htm
cheers I'll tell him.... technically, as a keeper he is very good. He was recommended to Barnsley by Sasa...but was also told they did not want him the same week they kicked Sasa out !! He also wants to start playing outfield as a defender, thats what he started as, but his team and school team won't let him....no one else wants to go in goal !! Best thing is at the end of the day he loves it, and he loves the 'pressure' of being in goal...all in all it will do him no harm as he grows up, no matter what he does.
