I'm currently doing my blog preview thing of the Leeds game. Hoping to get it finished by tea-time. I always get the opposing fans' views, and seen as I've now read their views (it's very pleasant, very humble reading.....) I thought I'd this time ask our fans their opinions, and include that in the blog too. Feel free to be as arrogant, aloof and abusive as possible, but without too much language of the blue variety. Just 3 questions: (1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city.... (3) What scoreline are you predicting? Cheers. Back at tea-time, hopefully.
(1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? Bit of a lovely person. Thinks he's something he's not these days. (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city.... The club - bit of a lovely person. The fans - majority I've met are a bit cnutish. The players - I love Andy Gray. Diouf is a lovely person, though. Ticket price - cnutish. City - it's alright. Except it's full of Leeds fans (3) What scoreline are you predicting? 3-1 Leeds.
Phone the Billy Sharp Bouncy Castle guy up for his opinion. Are the supporters coaches going past his business premises on Saturday? Forgot name and address.
(1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? Effective. Some can't handle that. (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city? Odious and run by a crook, Some will be sound others odious, scum especially Brown, too much hence I won't be going, far too up its own arse. (3) What scoreline are you predicting? Be happy with a point.
I see your chosen website was their mad site, obviously the majority of their fans have forget our 19 goals in the last 6 games against them... Hope we stick it up em again
(1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? Good football manager, very knowledgeable, but a complete arsehole. (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city.... Delusions of grandeur. Throughout the club from top to bottom. They believe they should be playing champions league football, they cite their rivals as Manchester United and Chelsea, yet for much of the time I've been watching the game they've played at the same level as Barnsley and sometimes below. But that's just amusing, the reason to dislike them is that both on and off the pitch they're the dirtiest, nastiest team in the football league. Every time we play them we they seem to injure one of our players. It doesn't matter who their manager has been, they just kick the opposition off the pitch. Their fans are even worse. From the national front connections in the 70s and 80s to being held back for an hour in Elland Road while a huge baying mob lobbed lumps of concrete over the wall at us, they've consistently been the most vile opposition fans I've encountered. One time, while sat in a queue of traffic leaving Elland Road, a Leeds fan picked up some masonry and smashed it through the windscreen of a car containing Barnsley fans right at the side of us. (3) What scoreline are you predicting? Leeds 5 yellow cards Barnsley 3 injured players
1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? A manager who knows how to get clubs promoted from the Championship - I don't have the hate for him that some do, possibly cos I remember his comical attempts at wing play for us in the 70's. (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city.... Smart city. Club and fans are ******* horrible - no grace in defeat, no class in victory, a strange persecution complex and a total lack of self awareness. I do not know of a fan of any other club who has anything remotely complementary to say about either the fans or the club. Ticket prices ? **** off. Players seem to assimilate into the club ethos. (3) What scoreline are you predicting? Leeds 3 v 1 Barnsley.
(1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? Utter cap-end; can't stand the bloke. Everything about him makes me want to beat the **** out of him. (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city. Horrible nasty club, horrible deluded fans who still think its 1974, horrible nasty players but befitting of the club and the supporters, ticket prices are a scandal but I expect that their horrible owner will justify the prices, the city is the centre of the universe and the only place in the world to be... well according to Harry on Look North anyway. (3) What scoreline are you predicting? 2-2. I also predict that a Barnsley player will be crocked for the season.
(1) What do you reckon to Neil Warnock? Good manager at this level who needs to learn to keep his gob shut at times. (2) What do you make of Leeds. The club, the fans, the players, the ticket price, the city.... Don't think about them any more than the other teams in this division. They just happen to live closer mainly. The city centre is great, but if you took a mile-wide bulldozer from Elland Road in a Northeast direction and flattened Beeston, Belle Isle, skipped the centre then Little London, Chapeltown, Osmanthorpe and Seacroft it would be a lot better. (3) What scoreline are you predicting? Depends on which team we turn out. Either 0-3 to tahn or 3-0 to Leeds.
Make sure you have the keys *$@ on your keyboard, you're going to need them to make the blog family friendly.
1. I'm going to go against the grain and say I think he's alright, he always speaks quite well of Barnsley as a club and a town, he's passionate and you can't argue about his credentials. Think he's actually been treated unfairly by a few clubs. 2. Met quite a few of their fans (some of them good friends), half of them are quite humble about the club and don't get carried away, others seem completely deluded and have the view that they have a divine right to be at the top of the league. Seem to lose all their best players, have some decent ones still but there's honestly not many I'd have in the Barnsley side. Ticket price is absolutely shocking, it's OK for us complaining once a season but their fans are being taken advantage of at every home game. Don't mind the city, decent shopping and night out (even though the door staff are very keen if your face or clothing doesn't fit with their ever-changing entry policy), nice train station. 3. Not even going to try and predict, they are due a win against us but I think recent performances have shown that we get much more freedom to play our game on the road. We'll either hammer them or be hammered, can't see it being a draw.
