I'm going to watch Chile (tipped them and Germany remember) hopefully beat and knock out Brazil now, but later I want to relax with a few beers and watch a decent film with her indoors. I've had great suggestions when asking on here in the past. I'd like to watch that Bradford film that Jay mentioned a while back, but don't think it's available online for nowt. So if there's owt you'd recommend, go ahead. Preferably summat sad, for r lass like, I don't cry, obviously. But ar, summat that tugs on thi emotions would be grand. Thanks in advance.
filth wi james macavoy, very funny and a bit sad in places, loads of shagging and rude language tho ',sithi.
I was forced to watch a sad film last week and it was surprisingly good so I will recommend 'my sisters keeper'. Does she like dogs Andy?
"Mud" Featuring Matthew Mcaunghay (sp) is a fantastic film, or if you have already seen that then "Prisoners" with Hugh Jackman, the quickest 3 hours of your life, fully recommend.
Or if your quite partial to a documentary then "The Crash Reel" is absolutely brilliant, definitely pulls on the heartstrings. Another couple of recs: Captain Phillips Into the wild (great soundtrack by Eddie Vedder) The Impossible The Sessions
I'd recommend Mud too. And Prisoners is a decent watch. Nebraska, Frances Ha, Blue Jasmine are all sad. A bit different, probably not for everyone, but I liked 'em. Magic Mike is excellent, it's about male strippers, but dunt let that put you off, it's a great film. Behind the Candelabra is too, keeping on a gay theme! Beasts of the Southern Wild, Broken, The Sessions, Good Vibrations, Blue Valentine - all highly recommended.
whitey, if you want to watch a decent film wi bird watch were the millers, its on sky demand movies ready to watch, a funny one beats a sad one anytime.
In keeping with the 'Blue' theme then try "Blue is the warmest colour".......or maybe not, unless you're into that kind of thing...
I have found the perfect film for you Mr W Hitey. The 1970 classic The Buttercup Chain Hth you have a good setdi neet. Hth
Some great suggestions. I think. Going to read up on them all, and then see which fits. I'll let you know which got the seal of approval. Last night, we watched American Psycho. Not seen it in years, Christian Bale was brilliant in that, but it wasn't as good as I'd remembered it. Still decent like.
Glad you've given me over a month to get permission off the missus, and permission off work. Not been to Gresty Road since Higgy scored there in 1999 (I think). Sounds like a decent idea to me. Hope it sounds ok to r lass and my gaffer. Dunt hold thi breath (on the latter).
So far, it's between Blue Valentine, The Sessions and Mud. Which is the best? I'm edging towards Blue Valentine. Seems ready made for r lass.
All very good films, but personally i would say Mud is the better of the 3. Plus Matthew Mcconaughey is awesome in it.
