When we went up in 97 l taped all news clips and various stuff from Look North, Calendar, Sky etc onto an old VHS tape, I recently found the tape at my mums. l want to be able to put it on here or a link to it so l'm going to upload it to youtube. Never put anything on youtube, not even got an account on it, l only go on to watch that video of that bird walking around Asda with her stockings on that her husbands filmed. So can someone give me a dummy guide of how to get it from VHS to Youtube, this year. TIA.
I'd be careful putting stuff like that on YouTube (copyright etc), even though its been 15 years it might not be worth the hassle
Apart from owt else the first thing you need to do is transfer it to DVD so you can then load it on to your computer. If copyright is such a problem then half of youtube would be shut down
First step is to transfer it from VHS tape to DVD. Once you have it on DVD it can be saved onto your PC and then uploaded to YouTube. I have a DVD/VCR Hard Drive Recorder which not only transfers from one deck to the other, but allows you to put it on its hard drive and do editing as well. Alternatively you could connect your VCR to a basic DVD Recorder and just do a straight transfer. Having said that, there's also gadgets that enables you to connect your VCR directly to your PC and cut out the middle man. It all depends what kit you have.
I've the gear to transfer it to DVD and edit it as you want (as pontyender suggests ) If you need to, pm me
Cheer's lad l may be in touch, gunna view it if l can find a VHS in the loft. We have an old VHS/DVD combi that l could probably use. With regards to the ASDA don't know which one, have a search on Youtube, its one loading shopping bags into car. U Reds.
