Bit unsure as to why we never did offer Jackson a contract. Even for 12 months. Can't really judge him on his single performance against Huddersfield (although he was decent), but he would offer us that bit of experience and pace we require. I agree. I'd have definitely given him a contract. If we do sign him though now it cant be a great feeling for him knowing he was the very very last choice.
I think if you're out of work, you wouldn't be overly concerned about that. Indeed a more determined character might be looking to prove a few people wrong.
If hes a good professional then I'm sure that will be the case. But we had at least 2 lads last year who conned us into offering a contract only to offer us f*ck all. I've seen Jackson in training a few times though and he looked every bit the good pro.
Good with both feet and looks to have some decent movement. All in training but he must want to stay if hes still training with us
This would worry me. We have done nothing last couple of years besides rid of the "high earners". Replace with young and hungry players which by all accounts are paid less than previous. We have reduced the size of the squad all the while supposedly having one of the larger budgets in the division. So. Where does the truth sit. I can't for one minute believe we are at the limit. Otherwise we are paying our kids ludicrous amounts...
Aren't wages for u21s excluded from SCMP anyway? I'm a bit confused as to how we can be anywhere near it.
