    Always had good pedigree but his fitness has been the issue. Very strange decision to loan him out for the season. Hope he comes back like Mowatt did….

    Hope he’s not coming back to a league 1 club like Mowatt did. Would we be able to recall him in Jan?

    Don’t think we can recall him in January but I could be wrong. If Oxford were to go up and us down I doubt he’d want to come back.

    Cos he hasn't had the opportunity to. Well apart from here and there. But no real run in the team. For whatever reason.

    Supposedly not fit, but is able to pull on a shirt for another team mind...

    I think we should have kept him.

    Also he is possibly the oldest looking 22 year old in England. I'm 35 and I reckon if we were queuing to get into a club he'd get IDd before me. It's the hair island, it does him no favours.

    To be fair, last season we were firing on all cylinders and the team essentially picked itself. So unless he was absolutely outstanding when he made sub appearances, then he wasn't going to dislodge those in the starting line up.

    This year should have been a different matter though.

    Honestly I thought it made perfect sense to loan him out. He's not been able to get a run of games here, mainly down to his fitness. He might be afforded that at Oxford, and if he stays fit, we might have a hungry central midfielder ready to go in January (presuming the rules about recalls hasn't changed).

    Good on him. Hope he does well. Huge difference in quality, between L1 and Champ. Given his pedigree I would expect him to do well there.

    There is a difference in quality, but standout players in league 1 have been beyond our reach in the past, e.g Whiteman. If we’re looking for a midfielder in January, we’d be mad not to recall him if the option is there.

    agree. for whatever reason though, he's not made any kind of impression with us at Champ level. also agree it would be a bit mad agreeing to a loan deal that didn't give us an option to recall. I don't know the rules though.
