Dead easy If the ball is going to miss the stumps - not out If the umpire believes the ball was going to hit the stumps then the following apply If the ball pitches outside leg stump - not out if the ball strikes the batsman outside the line of off stump and batsman plays a shot-not out - f the ball strikes the batsman outside the line of off stump and batsman makes no attempt to play the ball - OUT if the ball strikes the batsman in line with the stumps and pitched in line or outside off stump - OUT
