Everton are understood to be considering a move for Lee Trundle.

The Swansea star is one of the most feared strikers outside the top-flight - having hit 17 goals in 17 league games so far this season.

Trundle has attracted a host of interest from Championship clubs in recent months, but now clubs from the top-flight are starting to take a look with Chartlon, Aston Villa and Wigan all taking time out to make a check on the 29-year-old.

Now Toffees boss David Moyes is believed to be keen, having checked on Trundle in person during Swansea's 2-2 draw at Tranmere on Saturday.

Trundle has always insisted that he is happy with life at Swnasea, but the chance to play at the top-level is also a dream he still hopes to fulfil.

Everton's interest is extra special for Trundle - given he has been a Toffees fan since he was a child.

"Everton is my club," admitted Trundle.

"I think deep down if a Premiership club comes in, no Swansea fan would begrudge me moving on to the top flight.

"I'm an Everton fan and I'd give anything to play for them, and I think everyone knows that.

"But I'm not going to kick up a fuss and try to get away. It would have to be a deal that was right for the club and for me.

"Sheffield Wednesday put in a bid, but it wasn't the right football move. Wednesday are a massive club, but Swansea can be too."
