and allow me to put this indelicately: can you remember a time when we've had so many non-white players? In all the years I've been watching the Reds, I recall us always being pretty much an all-white team in an almost all-white town with mostly an all-white fan base. Yay diversity!
I don't really know, Luke mate And I simply don't care, it's not an issue I've given a second's thought to. Which, I suppose, kind of proves the point I believe you're making on diversity.
I do recall back in the 80's the group I went to games with used to do a count of each team and see if we won with the most....this was the days of Winston Campbell and Larry May....I won't even say what we called it but let's just say it wasn't at all PC!
What's diversity mean?, am not the brightest when it comes to words numbers and academic things, that's why am a builder haha
I can remember jimmy greaves going through our team before we played Liverpool in the cup - getting to winny's name and saying I bet he's not white! :-/
Are white ones more expensive? I don't think it just the club and town that have suddenly become open to diverse playing staff. It reflects society, more black and ethnic kids playing the game from a young age, than there was possibly 30 years ago when Winnie played for us. I think also BFC and the town is probably a more attractive place for black players to come to live and work, than it was even ten years ago. Hopefully that reflects more Liberal and inclusive attitudes amongst the populace.
Re: Totally agree, mate They could be green for all I care. If they are good enough then that is all I am bothered about.
Why are people so scared to refer to someone as 'black'?? People are so scared that anything they say may be taken as racist these days, nothing wrong with describing someone as black if that is what they are!
