Mark Crossley....well not him, says of Tommy Lee released by Chezzy he's the best talent he'd ever worked with. Got me thinking, he's 6ft 2in and tbh the times I've seen him looks more than competent. Never heard their fans refer to him as a calamity keeper. Rough diamond for us from a lower league maybe?? Played for Rochdale, was at Man Utd, fans fave at Chez?? Any thoughts? Link.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Lee_(footballer)
Cracking keeper at lower levels. Bit crazy at times by all accounts. Surprised if someone didn't take a punt on him further up the leagues.
So get rid of a proven championship keeper for someone released at Chesterfield, has there been drugs in the air around the world today?
I'm not saying get rid of Luke, but I can't help but think Flicker would only push the boat out for him if he didn't have a back up plan. Have to say that Steeley is a legend but emotion aside like any keeper he has flaws, shot stopping not many better, aerial, command of six yard box....seen much better week in week out at this level last season.
Ok i'm getting a bit fed up now, this i see better week in week out, how much are they gonna cost. We have a good keeper at this level, stop pissing about with him.
Normally I agree with most of your posts but at the end of the day if LS wage demands are greater than our budget then there's not much Flicker can do. If he was a worldy keeper I'd get it but you're confusing loyalty with ability. He's good but if I have to I'll name you 15 better Champ keepers.
That would only be your opinion though because in my opinion there are nowhere near fifteen championship keepers better than Luke. You'd be hard pushed to name five credible candidates.
Quality keeper, been offered chance to move to Championship before but turned em down by all accounts. Loved playing for Chesterfield, not sure why he's been released!
A goalkeeper from the lower leagues doesn't bother me as much as signing an outfield player from the lower leagues. There are some skills a goalkeeper could transfer to any league in which they play in. Hence the reason why the 3rd choice keeper for England is often a young keeper plying their trade in the 2nd or 3rd tier, such as Butland, Fielding and even Joe Hart (wasn't he at Shrewsbury when he got his first call up approx 7 years ago?) Tommy Lee is a decent keeper from what i've seen, and for me, would be a better option than Alnwick.

I would have Lee, but only if Steele ships out. He is 27, but experience can count with a keeper and quality ones who keep fit also keep going to a ripe old age! I also think Carl Ikeme a good keeper, similar to Steele. Of course, I would prefer to keep Steele, but there are other good 'uns around.
