&quot;I love being the manager of this football club, it's a fantastic football club,&quot; he said. &quot;I'm glad to have been give the opportunity to try and make improvements next season.

&quot;Building a rapport with the fans is something I've recognised and I know I've got to build on that,&quot; added Davey.

&quot;I realise that when I took over the football club it was a difficult time.

&quot;Andy Ritchie was well-liked and then, of course, I'm not from Yorkshire, I've never played for Barnsley, so that's something I have to overcome.

&quot;But the fans can be guaranteed that I want this club to be successful and I want to finish off what myself and Patrick planned for this club.
