"We're planning for the future," Davey told the Star. "I love being the manager of this football club, it's a fantastic football club," he said. "I'm glad to have been give the opportunity to try and make improvements next season. "Building a rapport with the fans is something I've recognised and I know I've got to build on that," added Davey. "I realise that when I took over the football club it was a difficult time. "Andy Ritchie was well-liked and then, of course, I'm not from Yorkshire, I've never played for Barnsley, so that's something I have to overcome. "But the fans can be guaranteed that I want this club to be successful and I want to finish off what myself and Patrick planned for this club. "It would be nice to be able to do that. </div></div>
