Cost a fortune in perms. Oh hang on, wrong McDermott. What's Steve McMananamanamanaman doing these days eh, eh
You know I think it sometimes pays to not go up as a manager, just to do very well each year in the Championship. As soon as a club goes up, suddenly the manager who has guided them there, who was worshipped, praised to high heaven, is booted out. Would it really harm Reading to keep him even if they did drop? They've got the weakest sqaud in the league primarily through limited expenditure, surely McDermott would be the perfect guy to get them back up if they do get relegated? Adkins and now McDermott, not sure what certain clubs expect. That said, Forest's new chief exec/owner/money man has just said they could be in the Champions League within 5 years so sign of the times I guess.
Sacked by Reading The football industry gets dafter. http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-110313-708125.aspx
agreed with all that. And if the do go down they have a terrific squad to bounce straight back up, People always talk about loyalty and things. Chairmen these days just see pound signs and its ruining the game
It's not too many years ago sides went up came down but kept the squad together and parachute. Payment then back up again stronger this time round Bolton for example did it under Big Sam a couple of bounces and then you stick I can't believe firing the manager every time you lose a couple of games really drives a club forwards
