He said: &quot;I thought we played really well. Our tempo was good throughout, we played with pace and passed the ball around well. </p>

&quot;We could have won by a bigger margin. There were some good performance out there from my lads. </p>

&quot;The only disappointment is that Ian Roper and Simon Osborn got injured.&quot; </p>

By contrast, Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie was left more disheartened by his team's performance than at any time since taking the reins at Oakwell. </p>

He said: &quot;<font color="#cc0000">I'm massively disappointed. That's the worst we've played since I've been manager. </font></p>

&quot;We weren't up for the fight, especially in the second half, and I feel for the fans who travelled to support us. </p>

&quot;Walsall got exactly what they deserved - and so did we.&quot; </p>
