So - lets get this straight. Just because an institute of learning in London - which could give benefit to many - which will be paid for by American republicans and big business in the main - NOT the British tax payer - will bear the name of someone you don't like - you want the whole of Barnsley to object to it being built.

NO - We do not want the children of London to be educated just because the library is named after Thatcher.....

If the british tax payer were paying for the building of new libraries in London whilst those in Wombwell, Jump and Barnsley were at the risk of closure I might consider signing.

But frankly I find the petition just slightly Bonkers

I'm guessing you didn't read the petition then which actually states that no taxpayer money should be used. Don't think it actually states it should not be built at all, they are free to do what they want if it's private money.
I do find the notion of building this "bonkers" though. This is an American thing, where they build a library/museum in the home town of every President. This is not something that has ever been the custome here, there isn't even such a facility in the name of Winston Churchill.

Yes - I did read it. But as far as can see there is no intention of public money being used.

So lets start a petition against Britain wasting public money on going to the moon. There's no plans to go - but lets start a petition anyway....

Just totally nuts Thatcher bashing for the sake of it. Well if that turns you on go for it. But I reckon your efforts are better spent else where. Badgers maybe. Definatley Rhinos.

Seems a bit petty really, obviously people round here hate her but she's still going to be remembered as one of this country's greatest Prime Ministers whether we like it or not.

    Signed.

I just cannot see anything positive in putting Margaret Thatcher's name to this.

Now if Winmau were to put her image on a Special Edition dartboard..........

Extreme, yes, but so was she, in this neck of the woods.

I fail to see what is petty about saying that no public funding should be used for this, especially when you see stories like these

When no such facility has ever been built for any other Prime Minister, not even Churchill.
