I live ten mins away from Hamilton, and about 45 mins from Niagara on the lake, weather has been outstanding, just closed my swimming pool yesterday although weather is still mid 20's was 32 monday gone. it is the Niagara Wine festival while you are over, and the falls is only 10 mins away. I have family over at the moment and go back monday 01 Oct, regards Waterdown red
I stayed in Welland a few weeks back. Got lost in Hamilton trying to find that Safari Park !

You live in a beautiful country.

There would be at least one more Brit ...... if I could convince our lass to up sticks !

I'm sick of hoildaying there. Just want to live there now.

There's lots going on this time of year. Hard to recommend gigs without knowing your taste in music, but just to give you some idea: Springsteen, Van Halen, Maroon 5, James Blunt, The Chieftains and La Scala Philharmonic are all in town soon. Best bet is to browse toronto.com and ticketmaster.ca You'll find festival info there as well: Niagara Wine Festival as Waterdown Red mentioned, Caribbean Week, Small World Music Festival, Toronto Songwriters etc. Oh, and you'll be happy to learn that you're here for World Breastfeeding Week and Ladyfest Week (feminist hug-a-thon). If you're a "leaf peeper", it's the perfect time to drive out of the city and hit the hiking trails. The Toronto FC games are sold out, but you'd have little trouble getting tickets outside the ground. Plenty of touts around. Worth taking the ferry to the Toronto Islands - best photo ops of the downtown skyline. England v Estonia - if you're still here, try the Duke of Gloucester (upstairs) on Yonge St. A short walk away is The Artful Dodger on Isabella St. - nice pub. Forecast for next few days is about as good as it ever gets for late September / early Oct - sunny and low to mid twenties. Enjoy the trip! http://wapentake.wordpress.com/
