Being a bit of a whore for vinyl, I've decided to look for a decent hi-fi set-up. I bought a record player with built-in speakers a while back, but it's ****, so I'm on the look-out for something decent.
Any suggestions on where to look? I've tried ebay but most on there are the shitty retro style ones that have terrible sound quality, or decent old school systems, but need to be collected in person.#
Any advice would be great. Cheers all

Get yourself down to Richer Sounds, tell em what you want and how much moola you wanna spend.
See what they say and then see if you can buy that kit second hand or cheaper elsewhere.

There's one in Milton Keynes...not too far away!
Cheers though fella...appreciated
Oh, what's the status of those t-shirts?

Remember to ensure the amplifier has a phono stage to take a record player input. A lot of new amps don't come with one these days. Saying that, you can get a third party phono stage that modifies the signal. I bought an old Garrard direct drive deck on the cheap. It does the job. Maybe you could also look at DJ style decks. They should give a decent sound. Technics being the Rolls Royce but plenty of others are up to the job too.
RE: What sort of budget are you looking at? nt Well my Dad has said he'd be happy to pay £200 ish (which I guess isn't much - but that's why I was initially looking for second hand players)
