I'd take the 4-3 from that game where we were 3 down after about 7 minutes

I'll be overjoyed if we were to replicate our 3-0 victory over Fulham on the opening day of the 1983/84 season (David Wilkes scored twice & the other one was from Stuart Gray on his league debut for us).:D

We've actually got quite a good home record against Fulham. It could just be the sort of game we need to arrest our slump in form.

    I'd take a 4-3 tomorrow too.

As for highest scoring game at Oakwell I think that would be 7-1 against Huddersfield.

Those with better memories will confirm but Stockport 4-4 Les Bradd springs to mind in addition to the 7_1 Huddersfield game.

    6-3 against Port Vale 1978/9

    Boxing Day I think.

Wrong, it was 6-2, but it was Boxing Day.

Only a friendly but I saw the Reds beat Gudja of Malta about 14-0 at Oakwell when Mick Butler played for us.
Think he scored about 6 that day - most I've ever seen from one Barnsley player in a single match.

I played in the highest scoring game at Oakwell. It was for Holgate School U15 in the final of the schools cup competition just after the last ice age. We played Hoyland and won 16 - 0. I played in goal and had a blinder, easily man of the match.

Didn't we beat Loughborough 12-0 in 1904 or summat?

It appears the link doesn't work for some. I can I just point out that the game in the link is from the 1920's when we beat Fulham 8-4.

It'd be difficult to imagine that many games where there were a higher number of goals scored.
I remember watching a friendly against a club called Hearts Of Oak from Ghana, who we beat 10-1 (1970?). Also, in another friendly, we beat Gudja United, the Third Division Champions of Malta, 16-0 in August 1975. John Peachey scored five goals that evening.
As for league games, we once lost 7-4 against Bristol City and Lol Chappell (I believe) scored all four of our goals.

It was either 9-0 or 9-1.

Apparently our highest record win. We did the same result twice I believe but cant remember who the other team was

Someone will correct me but I'm pretty sure the other was Accrington.
