Thanks for that. Watkins miss was more to do with a heavy touch rather than a glaring miss I thought. His goal didn't look as good as it was described, but he was persistent and created his own luck.
I thought his goal looked better last night but you have to credit the lad with carrying the ball so far and then scoring. Most would have cut it back for someone else to have a go
Wonder why Watkins didn't just stick the ball in the empty net with his left foot for the first. He clearly prefers his right foot, and them some, but he scored the second chance with his left.
They're all ****. To be serious for a moment, I haven't a problem with any of the players we've brought in from the lower leagues, I'm just not that bothered about the ones we have on loan from the leagues above. There's a striker in the Scottish Premiership I think we should take a look at. 4 goals in his first 7 games. He's called Kane Hemmings.
It all goes back to changing managers every year - the new ones then need to sign players that may or may not work, and get rid/assess the existing squad. I would have kept some that Johnson's released - but then again I'm not the one working to the demands of the BFC manager's job.
Keep Berry, Bailey, Lalkovic and Oates. Add the players Johnson has brought in permanently, plus Smith who we've agreed to sign permanently in January. Bring in one winger on loan until Williams is fit, either Harris or Crowley, and job's a good 'un. A team of our players, far less time waiting for them to gel, a good foundation of a squad added to by some astute summer signings. IMHO of course.
See that fan over there that's always wanting Barnsley to fail? That's you, that is! <img src ="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ApQejqCqwxU/hqdefault.jpg"> On a serious note, I've not seen anything from Rob Newman for years.
It appears sometimes it's more important to have your own players than work on someone else's. But again, a symptom of decisions made higher up. In my opinion.
He's still touring. I saw him in the civic last year. Completely different to what he did with David Baddiel, but much better imho. http://www.robnewman.com/live.html
