It wasn't just the execution from George Moncur. It landed perfectly on Josh Scowen's toe and he crossed for Marley's goal.

It was more than that. It was the way that he hit the ball. That was a long range pass of international quality. It looked fantastic this afternoon, and even better now. I said Moncur is my man of the match after about an hour, and others obviously agreed. Why he got taken off is a mystery.

Looking at those misses though - God almighty! We could and should have scored at least five. Maybe they would argue the same. It was a great game to watch though, and I shall report in more detail tomorrow.

Moncur is showing genuine premiership class. He's the player we all thought we were getting at the start of this year.

Moncur next to a James/Morsy/Hourihane type player for the whole of next season would be something else!

Exciting times! To think we were missing Hammill and Yiadom too today. Exciting times!

Really excited to see moncur next season class performance maybe hecky took him off to get the ovation he deserved. The composure on the ball the passing was top notch and the lad has got some shot on him stung keepers hand and forced a corner with one rattled the bar with another. Wont be long before one of those hits the net. Best player on pitch by some distance for me. On another note we did miss some very good chances and scowern probley should have squared that spilled ball from their keeper in the 1st half but all in all a good performance.

Some of his play today was. Without doubt. Just like Ryan Kent has shown some premiership class.

Obviously the difference between showing class and being premiership class is doing it for whole games week in week out.

Whatever you think though pal. Each to their own.

Championship class is what he's showing and long may it continue.

Ok. Apologies for differing and thinking some of his passing today wouldn't have looked out of place in a higher league.

He was good but Brentford weren't pressing they were letting us spray it around. They also aren't Premier League.

I remember Paul Digby once looking like Paul Scholes in a friendly.

It's only Premier League class when you're doing it against Premier League class.

We commented that he was really blowing in the second half. Maybe that's the only reason he came off?

Could just lack a bit of fitness.

He was blowing out his arse!! He's nowhere near as fit as is needed to be a championship central midfielder going box to box, which he has started to show the ability to be.

Preseason, and we might have something. Similarly get a preseason fitness and coaching/acclimatisation into Alex Mowatt we might have two excellent players for midfield areas, leaving more of the budget for strikers

He's had a few decent first halves, eg Villa away, but seems to lack fitness and struggles to last much more than an hour. Started to get caught in possession today and so I thought Hecky's substitution was timed right (unlike Thursday).

Sorry to go against the majority view but I retain my doubts about his mobility, fitness, work rate, defensive qualities and finishing. I'm not sure he'd get as much space either against most other teams in this league. Hope I'm wrong.

Josh was MotM by a country mile for me.
