Just got back from the Parade, and was talking to my daughter about the highlights from this season. Wow, what a list: Fleetwood away George's late winner V Peterborough The JPT Final Wigan away Walsall at home Walsall away The Fan Zone at Wembley Winning Promotion at Wembley Have I missed any? Just unbelievable. Told her to appreciate it.
Wigan away was fantastic. Altrincham away was an experience to add to my list (first time seeing BFC lose to a non-league team). Not fun, but definitely memorable. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Shrewsbury away as that was the game when I started to believe we were a decent side. I still didn't believe we'd finish to six at that point though.
Wigan away!!! Walsall away in the league was also fantastic. Conor's equaliser against the blunts.Thumping Rochdale. Beating Coventry at home was massive as was Bury in Heckys first game. What a season! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Funnily enough I missed Sheff U at home. At the time we chose to let my eldest play football instead. The clash of times, combined with how crap we were, made the decision for us. Never looked back.
George Williams development into a quality fullback. Conor Hourihane's transformation from talented dilettante to captain fantastic. Paul Heckingbottom taking charge and channelling lots of talented individuals into a team. Watching the emerging talent that is Ashley Fletcher getting better by the game A bunch of lads playing football the way it's meant to be played and playing with pride. Hourihane's goal against Sheffield United Away days at Wigan, Wallsall and Fleetwood and for different reasons Altrincham. Wembley twice Hammill twice. The restoration of pride Singing just like watching Brazil and meaning it again
One that I'd completely forgotten about until I heard it again on Radio Sheffield was Matty Templeton's goal against Blackpool. That was a big goal at a crucial time and it came from the most unlikely of sources. I hope he still gets a chance to impress in the next few years because he's a cracking player from what I've seen of him. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
So many highlights since Xmas! I'll add in Winnall's winner at Swindon... it was that goal that made me think we could reach the play offs. Personal highlights for me were obviously Wigan away, Walsall at home in the play offs, the JPT win at Fleetwood, Wembley twice and random shout outs to the pre-match drinks at Blackpool and Altrincham, two of the best and most fun days out I've had (despite the footy).
That lass who jumped on me at the Walsall home play off. Twice. My highlight of the season, until yesterday of course.
My highlights (so only games I've been to) in this order: Wembley Mark II Wembley Mark I Walsall home semi Wigan away Walsall away semi Fleetwood away semi Peterborough home (just for when that goal went in) Rochdale home
