Should Hill and Flicker have waited for the next bus ?

I would imagine that while they are sat in the car driving over those bleak hills that seperate us from Lancashire they will be pondering that they should have waited for the next bus that could have taken them to 3 or 4 nearby and much closer Lancashire towns.

But they jumped on the first bus that came along and have subsequently found that the bus driver dosent know where he's going - and because of that he dosent want to put anymore petrol in.
