Don't particularly like the bloke but he's got to be given until Christmas before even contemplating a decision and even then I'd only sack him if we are cast adrift at the bottom and relegation is a certainty. Personally I don't think that will happen. We may not be setting the division alight by that time, but I think we'll be in with a fighting chance of staying up at the very least. Our away record is *****. We all know that and that's why thousands of us don't travel. But so far we've played one at home and won it. It's our home form that'll keep us up. There'll be quite a few more tonkings away from home this season but it doesn't necessarily mean we'll be relegated. I think Keith has got to think a bit harder about his defensive set-up though. We looked very weak going in to this game. Bobby Hassell sitting in front of the back four when we're away from home isn't a bad shout. Not that I know owt.
Agreed that he shouldn't be sacked. I don't like him as a person and I don't particularly rate him as a manager either but I don't think we can afford to just sack him. Christmas and then make a decision in my opinion.
I think it makes sense to go totally gung ho when away from home. Lets face it the tactic of sitting back doesn't work, because the players are not good enough defensively. Therefore, may aswell go for it and pick up a few wins.
I don't think we should sack him. However, he has to sort the defence out. If he doesn't I think its a guarantee that we will be relegated.
Well said. I'm gutted again today, but it's way too early for all that nonsense. I like the bloke and having met him he is very decent fella, but we can't carry on like this away from home for much longer without it costing us in the long run.
People need to get used to fact, the club wont sack Keith Hill. He was brought in to do a certain job. A big part of it was to recruit players on the cheap / develop from within and sell on. How many other managers would come in and do that?
I dont think any other managers would come in using the develop/sell method....and who could blame them,if we keep on selling our best players we'll never build a team and will get relegated, then the rot will set in,we've no money now,so we'd have even less in league 1.....trouble is,whats the answer,we need fans thru the gates to generate money, but if we carry on like this then they just arnt going to turn up.
As far as I know we've only sold one player of any consequence (Vaz Te), against Hill's wishes. From which the board have seemingly learnt and said that it will now be his decision so long as we are operating within budget. hence not been forced to sell Done for less that Hill see's as his worth
