I still think... Not saying it makes his actions right or wrong... Something was said at some point.

Again im not condoning his actions one bit i think it was unproffesional but out of intrest right now someone walked up to you squared right up to you acting 10 ton then lets say insults you wife/mum or child. What would your reaction be i know mine would be simler to the one i saw today. Again im not saying anything of the above happened im just saying, proffesional or not you cant stop instinct

Head-butting someone isn't instinct, but leaving that aside, if you're professional you can control yourself if you're not you can't. Alnwick showed today that he isn't. Doesn't mean that will always be the case, you can work on things and learn from your mistakes, but I would imagine Keith Hill isn't all that eager to give him a second chance. He was let down badly today.

We might see David Button back for a spell, possibly?

Just add Alnwick to Oakwell's growing list of volatile reprobates. We might have to sign a behavioural therapist, preferably one who can keep goal.

I might be a bit sickly giddy with the Olympic spirit, but I was probably more disappointed with that picture of Jim O'B flipping the finger from a hospital trolley on his twitter page. Juvenile at best. You'd expect better from him.

No, it's not. Words are words. Just ignore them. I've been called every name under the sun and heard every insult, never hit anyone for it; especially not on a football field.

Be the bigger person and walk away.

    HIll better watch it,

he cant go dropping him for too long, if instinct takes over he find himself on the end of a headbutt.

That Ben Alnwick just cant help himself. Its instinct, he just feels the urge to butt and away he goes, butting every thing in sight.

It is instinct to some people, its been long established that Humans and other species have two and only two reaponses to been thretend flight or fight? Sciantists beleve this is built into genetics your one or the other.. So it is instincta and maybe you can walk away but some people can not or find it harder to. How old is alnwick 25 so still young?

My view of it was a whistle was already blown for offside before the insident i may be wrong but.. Then alnwick picked the ball up from his feet at which point Dale's player squared up to him and maybe something was said i dont know were Alnwick dropped the headbutt. The dale player seemed unaffected by this he turned to look at the linesman and i honestly saw the linesman shake his head. So he thew himself on the floor and that probably got Alnwick the red and the penalty (can you have a pen IF it was out of play) the headbut should nevee have happened but it did and i know a meal was made of it. I agree with the red though was unsporting
