"And success for us will be retaining our Championship status." So, in the sixth season since we came back into the second tier, that is the summit of our ambitions as a club? Now, apparently, "we can't play expansive football against the better clubs because we will be blown away." Is this the kind of spirit that has made us follow BFC all these years? I think not.
I'd sooner go down trying to play half decent football than scrape survival with the sort of s***te we've seen at Oakwell so far!
What is up with that statement? With the available resources staying in the championship is a realistic target.
what would you do then kahtorse if you were in keith hills shoes? (apart from resign lol) i think he talks sense, try and play foot ball but dont open up too much or you will get loved. we dont have a side that can just sit back and think "well if you score 3 we will get 4" we simply dont have the firepower or squad to do it.
Two home games so far, plenty of time to get things right. I dont want to see us go down to the ale house league under any circumstances and would rather us avoid relegation by any means. We're in a transitional season so give him a chance and get behind him.
I sort of hope Keith Hill reads this board, and every statement he makes is a concious attempt to wind Orsenkaht up. That's what'd make me respect him more. 2 home league games in, ffs.
Patrick Cryne has sacked one manager for saying something very similar, According to Cryne the aim is to progress year on year, not just be glad we dont get relegated, the aim was to get promoted back to the Premiership with as many homegrown players as possible.
Which were absolute dog sh ite !!!!! Hill has said it is his wish to play the same away from home as at Oakwell, so get ready for some more ****e at Oakwell, because the was we set up away is no good at home, too defensive and the away side just push up and sit around the halfway line then wait to get the ball back. Hope we can get something next week but I am not that hopeful to be honest and I dont think we will carry on getting results away for too much longer, the managers in this division learn very quickly.
Right, I've finally had enough of reading the endless carping posts by orsenkaht et al about Hill. When are you going to join the real world? Yes, in the eighties and nineties we could expect to hold our own in this league and, to some extent, we can in the future. However, I can think of four clubs straight off the top of my head who we could claim to be as big as or bigger than at that time who are now well above us in cash terms thanks to artificial investment from rich benefactors. Reading, Wigan, Fulham and Blackburn. So the playing field is tilted that much more against us now. Hill has inherited a mediocre team and had no money to spend. He's having to transform the club into one that can compete with the style of football he wants. One of hard work, good passing and control of possession. The Rochdale fans loved his style of football. He's had a couple of months and 5 league games to institute it here. Barely the blink of an eye but idiots like you are on his back as soon as we put in a couple of poor performances. From what I've seen of the away performances we've worked hard, looked solid and produced some nice spells of football and look like we could put an and to the APPALLING defensive record we've had since we came up. For heaven's sake cut the guy some slack and give him the chance to get the team playing how he wants. After the absolute dross that has been served up by previous managers at Oakwell recently,( step forward Simon Davey), I think Hill deserves a little more than four or five weeks before he's judged. Try being a bit more upbeat, who knows the atmosphere may even get a bit better at Oakwell if you do. I won't hold my breath though.
Must be a jolly little world from behind your rose-tinted spectacles, Churton. I'm seeing poor players, ****-poor performances and now, zero ambition. Let me ask you this: how many more seasons will "survival" be good enough for the likes of you?
