    I've read online that Hill has apologised for an "inept" performance.

    Must've been watching a different game to the one I was watching.

    It wasn't good enough to be inept. Derisory or Inadequate may have been better.

    End of. Alcohol required. Need a drink after watching that dross

    Isn't inept worse than inadequate? Or one in the same?

    Inept suggests completely unfitting of a football team, to the point of being inappropriate. Inadequate just suggests below par.

    I always like to use insipid, it even sounds like it ranks quite high on the ***** scale.
