Hindsight proves Ritchie Sacking is correct!

Following yetserdays turmoil at t'well I thought I would have my say so here goes for those of you interested:

1. Thanks very much Andy Ritchie for the last 18 months especially the Hudders away match and of course Cardiff! It is clear you have moulded a young side and got them to over achieve (in your words)last season. That said if they over achieved last season in Div 1 surely they needed further strengthening this season to cope with the Championship? It's been clear for a while that we needed an experienced and quality centre half, a finisher and better competition in the middle of the park.
The place and attitude of the playing staff you leave behind are significantly better than the one you took over when you became manager ....Once again I thank you.
2. Mr Shepherd ... Hopefully your decision to release Andy will be proven correct if we stay up in the championship and the club continues to progress on what Ritchie has left. That said I find it amzing and unprofessional how the last 10 days has been allowed to unfold. Firstly you should have dealt with things in house and not publicly broadcast what you did on Radio Sheffield ....It made the managers position un-tenable after your comments! Not knowing the full facts I can only give my opinion and although new players are required it can ONLY be the manager who selects these players and then approaches the board for the funding ...IT IS NOT FOR THE BOARD TO SUGGEST PLAYING STAFF!!!! (THAT'S WHY YOU PAY THE MANAGER)
Finally to release Andy 2 days before the transfer deadline seems bizarre ....who is making the decision on players now? (See previous paragraph!)
3. Mr Cryne .... You should have dealt with this previously and 'knocked both Ritchie's and Gordon's head together until something was sorted ....it was clear from the radio comments that the 2 were clearly not communicationg and heading in opposite directions. The whole debacle has made the club look un-professional! Finally for Mr Cryne I am a little worried that I didn't recall yesterday's club statement thanking Ritchie for last season and wishing him well for the future ... I hope the words were included and just not covered by the media?
4. The players .... It is clear that everyone seemed to get on well for Andy Ritchie and his loyalty to the players may have been his downfall ...Sometimes when staff are not performing well enough it's upto the manager to inform the players and if the only answer is to move them on then that is what is needed.. That said I have to congratulate the players on some of the football I have seen this season.
Against Wolves, Wash'day (with 10 men),Derby and other teams we have clearly played the opposition off the park...Yet look where we are and look where they are now. The football that is being played is significantly better than last season but the concentration and quality at times during a game is poor and in this division you get punished! I have not seen an oustanding team in the division so far and I believe that the players can turn things around and go on a run of games to get us out of this position. The players loyalty by the way is to the club and it's fans!
5. Brian Howards comments yesterday ...His final words on Radio Sheffield were that he was sad to see both Andy Ritchie and Rick Holden leave ....I thought that the decision on Rick was tomorrow???? I believe that a lot of the good morale of the team in the last 18 months has come from Rich Holden and if he would be happy to stay at the club we should make every effort to ensure we keep his services!

Finally to sign off ....I thought we would have to wait a while to see if the decision to release Ritchie was correct ... Imagine my amazement today to get confirmation it was correct after reading Chris Kamara's comments. His words criticise the board and say the decison was wrong .....That does it for me because anything Chris Kamara ever says is always TOTAL CRAP!

last thing i heard yesterday was ritchie had gone and decision on rick would be made later this week. posted message before seeing what has happened to him.
i have since checked official website and seen that he has left.
