I was stood in the dressing room before the Barnsley game and I heard fans singing very, very loudly: 'we're not going down, we're not going down'. "I thought 'Christ, the Barnsley supporters are up for it' and when I walked out I saw it was Leicester fans who were singing. Goosebumps ran up and down my back - it was fantastic and my lads responded to that. We've got 24,000 at home every week - and we haven't been doing very well, which speaks volumes for the passion they've got. Isn't it time we started having barnsley fans in the north stand ?
same here If they rebuild the west stand I firmly believe that it will be designed in such a way that it makes housing the away fans there a lot easier and so the north will be given to the home fans.
only issue with the west stand is the crowd trouble but it can be easily segregated but i wud have home fans deffo in north stand
A new west stand could easily be segregated much in the same way as the north stand is occasionally. Speaking of segregation, it is interesting to note that we couldn't segregate the north stand seating area agaisnt chelsea because there would be 3,000 chelsea fans yet at wembley 33,000 cardiff fans were segregated from 33,000 barnsley fans in the stands using just a 'curtain' much the same as the one at oakwell.
Existing West Stand is segragated Cant see any reason why a new improved one cant be as well If you assume similar capacity to the East Stand (7500) that gives a total capacity of 25500, so we would need to be able to give 2500 seats to opposition for cup games - we could easily split it so there were 3-3000 seats availlable for the away hordes.
But.... Have we got enough home fans to put in the North Stand? If you put the fans out of the West Stand into the North Stand they'd be lost. S)
