Anyone had a drinky/foody time round Holmfirth? Been to the odd place but not frequently. Oscars,Harrys the Winking Stag but feel i havent scratched the surface. Whats your recommendations?
Harvey's down in the centre. They have a premises that's rammed all the time at Fenay Bridge and their newer second premises is the same. Homemade food and a huge drinks menu.
I could check Google before writing this but I’m pretty sure Magic Rock opened a tap room there that everyone speaks highly of
There used to be a pub called The Farmers Arms which used to do meals. A group of us used to go up on a Friday night every two or three months, sit in a corner and sing. Sometimes a few local musicians from the Holmfirth area would accompany us. Our Christmas shenanigans were particularly popular. We rarely had to buy a drink. Usually, we finished with 'Pratty Flowers', especially at Christmas time even though it's not a carol. It's over thirty years since I was up there, so the pub may no longer exist.
The New Mexican restaurant is really good: https://www.mexicali.co.uk/ The burger place is pretty decent too: https://www.louandjoes.com/
Farmers Arms liphill Bank Road is still there. Believe still good for food although not personally been. Pratty Flowers the Holmfirth anthem. Had to learn that as a kid at school
Anyone eaten at the Pickled Pheasant at Holmbridge? Thinking of going for my 50th in September as the reviews all look very good.
Magic Rock Brewery have a lovely place in Holmfirth. Also a nice place for food and drink is Harvey’s Bar/Kitchen.
I haven't been in but it looks a nice place and always seems busy. Have you considered the Fleece at Holme? It's only another mile or two away and the food is very good.
