We shot ourselves in the foot conceding the first. poor throw by Gonzalez picked up and 10 seconds later balls in the net.

For the first 45 minutes we more than held our own and probably had the better chances but struggled in midfield - Henry and the other bloke just outmuscled us and Mellis in particular.

Second half we tired, Wolves sat back and increasingly picked us off on the counter. injuries showed when it would've been nice to bring a Silva or Done on for the last half hour - ah well.

Davies frustrated tonight - in some parts he looked quality and as though he had Johnson in his pocket but too often made the wrong decision. if we'd had that little bit extra quality first half we'd have scored 3.

Stand out player was Tommy Polish - some of his movement was unreal and I reckon him and Mellis Will really work well together. Hardwood struggled and looked of the pace and Mellis needs to how a bit of bottle if he's playing in a 442. Also thought Golbourne played well.

All in all disappointing but plenty of positives. Onwards and upwards.

Cheers for that Liam. even with a depleted squad we're proving not to be the walkovers pundits and bookies had us down as.

Is the Pole on a one year contract? l'm sure that even after a few games they realise he's at least a quality addition to the squad and could offer him a year extension to stop the norm this January? Saying that he may have only signed if it was a year contract to keep his options open.

Im guessing the one year deals are either forced by the players wanting to keep their options open or we are mindful of getting relegated.

Think Mellis will suffer a serious injury if he keeps pulling out of 50/50s. As if we haven't got enough! What's with all the hamstring problems - is it the warmups that are stressing them or what?
On the contract side - at least we've got 3 year ones signed now for our 2 young stars - Diggers & Stonsey
