    Thoughts?

There must surely be some serious consideration ........

I don't necessarily think it means 'the terrorists have won' if it does get canned, there is scope for some SERIOUS damage and any decision must consider that over any hollow, moral 'victory'

100% it will go ahead. Don't see why it shouldn't. On 9/11 World Wrestling Entertainment had a show to tape for TV. This got backed totally by the NYC mayor as he said the show must go on or we might as well let the terrorist win. The show opened with Vince Mcmahon doing a passionate speech about how America won't be beaten.

It's way easier to give up.

I don't want to. I was asking what others thought.

But there is scope for a massive attrocity. I'd like it to go ahead, co like all other events it's part of our way of life. But I would NOT like it to go ahead purely on the premise that we can't be seen to be letting 'them' win.

All I am saying really Pompey is that I am happy to have an opinion but glad it is not my decision to make! ! ! !

true , but saying there is scope for massive atrocity... theres scope for a massive atrocity everywhere you look and at every sporting event, why should football be cancelled? gigs are still happening every night in every major city after Le Bataclan, theres no real decision to make as far as i can see unless theres some pretty serious intel that a certain event (football or otherwise) is going to be targetted.

i get what you are thinking however and theres prob many more thinking like that too, thats what they want you to think though, one or two bombs, devastating as the loss of life is today it creates panic in millions of people and thats just as damaging, who knows how or if we are going to defeat scum like this, its not easy but we must somehow

I agree it should go ahead but the threat to a WWE show on 9/11 isn't remotely comparable to the threat to Euro 2016.

The world's media will be present at the Euros. Any terror attack would get massive publicity, more so than any other football match or gig. The casualties would be made up of numerous nationalities. Potentially the whole tournament would be cancelled part way through. It's an obvious target and there's no doubt someone will be plotting a terrorist attack and there's a chance it could be successful.

I can see the arguments for cancelling it as its a big risk to take with spectators lives. The authorities need to be 100% confident of being able to stop any potential attack.

Won't happen unless there is a declaration of war. If there is who will it be against, and who will declare it? No use scaremongering, the world has to continue to go round.

It will so totally go ahead

and rightly so. There are other sporting events that are big that could be hit on by a terrorist group. Formula one for instance, the US Super bowl, the Cricket World Cup, The Rugby Union World Cup. Wimbledon... just to name a few. Also some major Cultural events too 'The Proms' ... Glastonbury... The Welsh Eisteddfod. Edinburgh Tattoo. we simply cannot shut down for these Madmen.

And that's just it. All those events are going ahead as it stands. BUT, if there was an attack on Waverley station at Tattoo time, would it still go ahead? If there is an attack at Mumbai station, would Indias next home match go ahead?
Fact is there have now been 2 large scale attacks close to where the Euros are due to take place and somebody, somewhere in power will have a big decision to make. Glad it's not me

But the attack isn't random or targeted at the euros, it is seemingly in direct response to the arrest and alleged assault in brussels of one of the Paris attackers last week.

An attack on Mumbai might not be targeted at the cricket but you can bet your bottom dollar some would want to cancel the tournament .
    Just a thought

It will go ahead. But only a matter of time before another attack happens wether it be at euros, in Britain or a holiday destination or where ever.

It will go ahead and rightly so. The minute we start making changes like this is when we let the evil murdering terrorists win.

And the following Sunday was the Unforgiven PPV and Stone Cold was originally booked to retain the title, but given what happened and due to the nature of the storyline the american hero Kurt Angle was given the belt for one night until he lost it back to Stone Cold on Raw the night after. Memories.
