Getting married next August and starting to look at the honeymoon (the only part of the wedding arrangements I'm trusted to have any involvement with). Having looked around (and given that August is hurricane season in the Carribean and Monsoon in most of Asia) we are quite limited on luxury destinations and think they seem not very good value for money (at least £2,000 per person), so thinking more of an adventure Current plan is to take 2 to 3 weeks, fly to San Francisco, hire a car, drive down Big Sur then across to Yosemite National Park, back up to San Francisco, fly to Seattle for a couple of days, train to Vancouver then finish the honeymoon there before flying home. Anyone done anything like this, if so any advise? Or does anyone have any wildcard options to throw in? Cheers for any thoughts
Did a similar thing 3 years ago driving across California/Nevada. Flew into San Francisco, spent 5 days there! Picked up the hire car and then drove through Yosemite National Park on our way to Las Vegas where we spent 2 days. Then went onto LA and down to San Diego. Dropped the hire car back off at LA before flying home! Was there for 2 weeks in all and it was a fantastic holiday, would definately recommed it to anyone!
Cheers mate, really like the idea of it, just need to work out the cost once flights are released really. Only concern is how relaxing it will be after the stress of the wedding
As someone who worked in the Caribbean The hurricane season is a none event in the south islands. So consider Tobago, Grenada, or Barbados All very different depends on what you are looking for
sounds great as a holiday, but knowing what you feel like in the days after your wedding I would go for a relaxing beach hol. Or combine and spend a week hectic, week on beach.
