The bit about Middlesborough at home in the Early 80s was a incident my mate and me often recall. We were sat on top of an old turnstile roof at the back of the ponty awaiting kick off. A group of lads, all seemed to be dressed in black and drinking beer congregated below us. When we realised they werent Reds fans we climbed down and watched from a safe distance as they started singing their own club songs. BIG MISTAKE!!! After a short while Reds fans piled into them from all angles resulting in them making a hasty charge for the pitch and to safety. As they made their escape fists, boots and insults oh and phlegm rained down on them until they reached the boundary wall. On reaching the pitch they were met by south yorkshires finest who then escorted them to the safety of their own end.......one of them with a police dog attached to the arse of his jeans. Top prematch entertainment in my book!
There was Boro away around same era Dint go myself but apparently some our fans were escorted to Ayresome Park via a graveyard. Boro fans were hiding behind gravestones in wait. Did anyone else hear about that one?
RE: There was Boro away around same era Missis's brother got slashed up at that one.
quite nasty.

RE: There was Boro away around same era Yep my mate told me about that - also police on horses riding through the graveyard....said it was like summat out of a horror movie!
RE: There was Boro away around same era Somthing was supposed to have happend outside the wellingtons a bit back
Away at Man City... The one where clint scored the injury time winner.... Well, our coach was at the other end of the ground, and me and my mate got seperated from all the other fans and was basically on our own walking through thousands of city fans... what happened next... One city fan, was making a Bee line for me, and I knew their was going to be trouble, and stuck his forhead right on my face. Blood everywhere, and so I turned round to have a pop back, which wasn't the best Idea (ie 2 v approx 5,000), and only when I saw a copper look at me and turn his back and walk off, did I realise that it was best left alone, and decided to peg it back through the fans to the coach (trying to zip my coat up at the same time)... mmmm
I remember an home game against Bradford when a police horse got hurt. remember having to walk up grove street with us on one side and them on the other with coppers in between. They surged through the cops and I was straight over the school fence. Don't think I could get on the wall these days.
